Summary

Description
Português: Retrato de Machado de Assis feito por Marc Ferrez.
Deutsch: Joaquim Maria Machado de Assis, Porträtfotografie von Marc Ferrez
English: Photograph of Machado de Assis by Marc Ferrez. this article describes him as a "light-skinned mulatto", but sepia photographs are a little hard to interpret skin tone with, partly due to photographic techniques of the time tending to put a lot of light on the face, which can make people look lighter-skinned (Part of this is that contrast brings out facial detail in small photographs; part of it is a lot of the æsthetics of early photography were very much invented with white people in mind.)

As Adam lives in Britain, which makes it incredibly easy to acquire copyright in his works, he grants, if needed, an irrevokable license to use this work however you see fit. He requests attribution where possible, and realises that "where possible" means that that request is not legally enforcable. Adam Cuerden (talk) 15:44, 16 January 2022 (UTC)
