Template:MR

Template documentationviewedithistorypurge

Makes a link to MathSciNet from the Mathematical Reviews review identifier. The identifier is rendered using much of the same code that renders <syntaxhighlight lang="wikitext" inline style="display: none;" />|mr= in Citation Style 1 and Citation Style 2 templates except that this template can be used to render multiple MR identifiers.

Usage

This template accepts these parameters:

<syntaxhighlight lang="wikitext" inline style="display: none;" />|idn= – an MR identifier; the <syntaxhighlight lang="wikitext" inline style="display: none;" />|idn= parameter name is not required but is recommended for clarity when the template has multiple identifiers

<syntaxhighlight lang="wikitext" inline style="display: none;" />|link= – accepts a single value no; for use when it is the 'MR' prefix in the rendering should not be linked

<syntaxhighlight lang="wikitext" inline style="display: none;" />|plainlink= – accepts a single value yes; suppresses the 'MR' prefix in the rendering

<syntaxhighlight lang="wikitext" inline style="display: none;" />|leadout= – defines the conjunction between the last two identifiers in the rendered list; defaults to ,

The basic form is:

<syntaxhighlight lang="wikitext" inline="1">MR 0396410</syntaxhighlight> → MR 0396410

To unlink the prefix:

<syntaxhighlight lang="wikitext" inline="1">MR 0396410</syntaxhighlight> → MR 0396410

To suppress the prefix:

<syntaxhighlight lang="wikitext" inline="1">0396410</syntaxhighlight> → 0396410

Multiple identifiers:

<syntaxhighlight lang="wikitext" inline="1">MR 0009016, 0037277, 0069787, 0122834, 0177027, 0263581</syntaxhighlight> → MR 0009016, 0037277, 0069787, 0122834, 0177027, 0263581

Multiple identifiers with <syntaxhighlight lang="wikitext" inline style="display: none;" />|leadout=, :

<syntaxhighlight lang="wikitext" inline="1">MR 0009016, 0037277, 0069787, 0122834, 0177027 and 0263581</syntaxhighlight> → MR 0009016, 0037277, 0069787, 0122834, 0177027 and 0263581

Old-style MR identifiers like <syntaxhighlight lang="wikitext" inline="1">MR 96d:11071 {{mr}}: Check mr value (help)</syntaxhighlight>, which resolves to MR 0396410, are not supported by this template. Just use MR 0396410 directly.

For instructions on how to use Wikipedia to automatically expand an MR into a full reference complete with article title, author(s), date, journal name, volume, issue, page numbers, etc., please see User:Citation bot/use.

Tracking categories

• Category:Pages with MR errors – error category for {{mr}} templates that show an error message
• Category:MR format – maintenance category for {{mr}} templates with an identifier that has an extraneous 'MR' prefix.

Because this template uses the same code as cs1|2 templates, error and maintenance visibility is controlled the same way. See Help:CS1 errors § Controlling error message display.

Citation Style 1 and Citation Style 2 templates include a <syntaxhighlight lang="wikitext" inline style="display: none;" />|mr= parameter with the same function.
