Using display

The mechanics of Wikisource will sometimes require that a link have disambiguation information which is not part of the original title. The display parameter allows this information to be hidden for the purpose of the citation. For example:

{{cite Collier's|wstitle=Monroe (Louisiana)|year=1921|display=Monroe, a city of Louisiana}}

displays as:

 Reynolds, Francis J., ed. (1921). "Monroe, a city of Louisiana" . Collier's New Encyclopedia. New York: P. F. Collier & Son Company.

Using short

Using short removes the location, publisher and editor.

{{cite Collier's|wstitle=Jackson, Andrew|short=x}}

displays as:

"Jackson, Andrew" . Collier's New Encyclopedia. 1921.

Using noicon

{{cite Collier's|wstitle=Jackson, Andrew|noicon=x}}

displays as:

Reynolds, Francis J., ed. (1921). "Jackson, Andrew". Collier's New Encyclopedia. New York: P. F. Collier & Son Company.

Using vb

If text is incorporated verbatim into an article, the vb parameter can be used to tack on a notice appropriate to the policy in Wikipedia:Plagiarism.

{{cite Collier's|wstitle=Townsend, Charles Henry Tyler|vb=x}}

displays as:

This article incorporates text from a publication now in the public domain: Reynolds, Francis J., ed. (1921). "Townsend, Charles Henry Tyler" . Collier's New Encyclopedia. New York: P. F. Collier & Son Company.
