 | Template:Talk page semi-protected indefinitely is indefinitely protected from editing as it is a heavily used or highly visible template. Substantial changes should first be proposed and discussed here on this page. If the proposal is uncontroversial or has been discussed and is supported by consensus, editors may use {{edit protected}} to notify an administrator to make the requested edit. Usually, any contributor may edit the template's documentation to add usage notes or categories.
Any contributor may edit the template's sandbox. This template does not have a testcases subpage. You can create the testcases subpage here. <inputbox> buttonlabel=Request edit type=commenttitle id=request_edit_inputbox hidden=yes page=Template talk:Talk page semi-protected indefinitely default=Edit request {{subst:#time:j F Y}} preload=Template:Request edit button/preload preloadparams[]=Edit COI</inputbox> |

Use this template on the talk page of indefinitely protected pages. The corresponding banner Template:Temporarily protected is no longer in use and has been deleted.
If the template in question does not have a /doc page, and the nodoc parameter is not passed to {{Talk page semi-protected indefinitely}}, then the talk page will be categorized in Category:Templates needing documentation pages.
The parameter <syntaxhighlight lang="wikitext" inline style="display: none;" />|nobutton=yes can be used to hide the "Request edit" button on talk pages that soft-redirect to a centralized discussion page.
