Usage

This template creates a {{cite web}} citation for music sales certification data from different regions. The citation created is as accurate as possible using the parameters given. Remember to check the output (e.g., for red error messages, broken links) when using this template; as an editor it is your responsibility to check your additions.

The template is also used internally by {{Certification Table Entry}} as its source of citations.

  • <syntaxhighlight lang="wikitext" inline style="display: none;" />|ref= – creates an HTML anchor identifier. When set, <syntaxhighlight lang="wikitext" inline style="display: none;" />|ref=ID generates an anchor with the given ID (the id= attribute in the citation's <cite id="ID"> HTML tag). Setting <syntaxhighlight lang="wikitext" inline style="display: none;" />|ref=ID identifies the template as a target and allows wikilinking to full references, especially useful with short-form citations like shortened notes.

If <syntaxhighlight lang="wikitext" inline style="display: none;" />|source=book, uses Scapolo, Dean (2007). The Complete New Zealand Music Charts: 1966 – 2006. Wellington: Maurienne House. ISBN 978-1877443-00-8. and <syntaxhighlight lang="wikitext" inline style="display: none;" />|id= is the page number.
If <syntaxhighlight lang="wikitext" inline style="display: none;" />|source=radioscope, uses the 2024 RadioScope certification search which has certifications since 2013. This option requires manual search.
If <syntaxhighlight lang="wikitext" inline style="display: none;" />|source=newchart, uses the new website at aotearoamusiccharts.co.nz which has charts from 1975. In this case <syntaxhighlight lang="wikitext" inline style="display: none;" />|id= is the date of the chart in the format YYYY-MM-DD. Setting <syntaxhighlight lang="wikitext" inline style="display: none;" />|domestic=true will use the domestic charts.
Otherwise, or if <syntaxhighlight lang="wikitext" inline style="display: none;" />|source=oldchart, uses the defunct website at nztop40.co.nz which had charts from 1975. In this case <syntaxhighlight lang="wikitext" inline style="display: none;" />|id= is the number of the chart and setting <syntaxhighlight lang="wikitext" inline style="display: none;" />|domestic=true will use the domestic charts. This option also requires setting <syntaxhighlight lang="wikitext" inline style="display: none;" />|archive-url= and <syntaxhighlight lang="wikitext" inline style="display: none;" />|archive-date=.

  • audiogest: Used if <syntaxhighlight lang="text" class="" style="" inline="1">certyear>=2018</syntaxhighlight>.   • Obsolete 1 afp: Used if <syntaxhighlight lang="wikitext" inline style="display: none;" />|source=archive. Works correctly only for <syntaxhighlight lang="text" class="" style="" inline="1">2007<=certyear<=2010</syntaxhighlight>. Uses an archived version.

Requires <syntaxhighlight lang="wikitext" inline style="display: none;" />|archiveurl= and <syntaxhighlight lang="wikitext" inline style="display: none;" />|archivedate=, but will provide a helper link if they are not supplied. If <syntaxhighlight lang="wikitext" inline style="display: none;" />|id= is set, will use the El portal de Música entry to reach the specific title. In this case, <syntaxhighlight lang="text" class="" style="" inline="1">id</syntaxhighlight> should be set to the end of the url for that title, e.g. for citing "Viva La Vida", the url is https://www.elportaldemusica.es/single/coldplay-viva-la-vida-2 and one needs to set <syntaxhighlight lang="wikitext" inline style="display: none;" />|id=coldplay-viva-la-vida-2. Also <syntaxhighlight lang="wikitext" inline style="display: none;" />|type= is mandatory in this case.
Otherwise, if <syntaxhighlight lang="wikitext" inline style="display: none;" />|certweek= is used, <syntaxhighlight lang="wikitext" inline style="display: none;" />|certyear= is the year for the certification and <syntaxhighlight lang="wikitext" inline style="display: none;" />|certweek= is the week number on which the PDF is available from the dropdown available under the week tab. This option supports <syntaxhighlight lang="wikitext" inline style="display: none;" />|streaming=true, <syntaxhighlight lang="wikitext" inline style="display: none;" />|digital=true and <syntaxhighlight lang="wikitext" inline style="display: none;" />|type=ringtone, relevant only for 2008 certifications.
